Try to get into the Windows Recovery Environment menus area. To do this start the laptop and then once it has started to boot, force shutdown the laptop by holding the power button until it shuts down. Do this 3 times i.e. Start > boot > force shutdown > start > boot > force shutdown. etc. On the 3rd attempt it should boot into the WRE.
Your Acer computer allows you to create a USB recovery drive to restore your Windows operating system if you encounter problems. You can also order a recovery drive from the Acer accessory store if you are unable to create one. 1. Plug in the USB stick (I was using an old 512 MB Mini Cruzer USB stick) 2. Select the Fast Format option and click Start. Then click Next. 3. Click Format and then Exit to complete the operation. 4. Download latest BIOS update from Acer website for your particular model (Acer Aspire 5349).
